ITALIAN NON-FERROUS METALLURGY
Portovesme S.r.l. was established on 2 July 1999 through ENI’s acquisition of the Portovesme (established in 1970) and San Gavino (established in 1929) production sites. Portovesme S.r.l. is a wholly owned subsidiary of Glencore International Plc, a global leader in the commodities sector, particularly in non-ferrous metals.
Currently, Portovesme S.r.l. is the only Italian zinc and lead producer and is considered to be of national and strategic importance by the Italian government, with around 900 workers permanently on-site.
